PARTICIPANTS

Anisha Tamang is currently pursuing Bachelor's in law at Nepal Law Campus, Kathmandu. She is from Thulopakhar, Lisangkhu Gaupalika, Sindhupalchowk District. She is interested in studying Nepal's legal system as well as sociological and anthropological perspectives to better comprehend society, psychological illnesses, and well-being.

Binu Lama is a member of the Tamang Student Ghedung Central Committee. As a member of the committee, she initiated creating a community library in Sindhuli. She recently earned a BA in Sociology from Sindhuli Multiple College and received a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Man Mohan Memorial Polytechnic Institute in 2019. She has two years of experience as a Technical Officer with the Small Irrigation Programme. Aside from that, she has been involved in community work in Sindhuli for over eight years through the Nepal Red Cross Society and the Sindhuligadhi Rotary Club. She is currently employed as an Academic Counselor for an educational consultancy. She is interested in studying the Tamang community, particularly Tamang women.

Chhiring Lama is a Student of Sociology. He is doing MA thesis on Tamang nation Lopchan clan deity rituals practice and history. Chhiring is from Uttargaya Rural Municipality 4 Chhyudalung, Rasuwa, and now lives in Kathmandu, Nepal.

RK Tamang is Indigenist Activist, freelance writer. He has done his master's in Buddhism and Himalayan Studies from Lumbini Buddhist Universities and now working as a lecturer at LBU. He has worked in diverse areas from mass media, tourism, NGO/INGO, Social campaign to a political analyst. His several articles have been published on Kantipur Daily and Nayapatrika Daily. His writing focused on Decoloniality, Plurinational Democracy and Indigenism. He is also involved in Gyandaboo, Saman-Nepal, Socio Culture Research Center.

Rajya Laxmi Gurung holds M.Phil. in Sociology from Tribhuvan University. She has lead number of research projects focusing on WHRDs, Child marriage, GBV, health, and peacebuilding. She recently worked as Senior Researcher at “Dignity Without Danger”, studying stigmas and taboos of menstrual exclusion in Nepal. She is particularly interested in ethnographic research focusing on gender, health, and religion.

Rakam Raj Tamang is a student. He is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in education at Mahendra Ratna Campus. His interests include study, journalism, and politics. He is from Roshi Rural Municipality in Kavre and currently resides in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Ranjit Tamang is a journalist located in Kathmandu. He has over 15 years of media experience covering local government and federalism. He formerly worked for the Karobar National Daily for six years. He also runs Local Communication Private Limited, which does journalism and research on federalism and local government. He is from Temal Rural Municipality, Thulo Parsel, Kavre and currently resides in Kathmandu.

Rukh Gurung is a researcher at Martin Chautari, Kathmandu. He has an MA in Sociology from Tribhuvan University. He has researched various aspects of school education in Nepal including the politics of reconstruction following the damages to schools caused by the 2015 earthquakes. He is currently doing research on the history of access to public schools for Gurungs. He was a Co-founding President of YUWA from 2009 to 2012.  [email protected]

Saroj Lama is an advocate. He earned a Master's degree in LLM from Ocean University of China, China, in 2018 and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Nepal Law Campus in 2015. Saroj is from Bhumlu, Kavrepalanchok, and presently resides in Samakhusi, Kathmandu.

Sunita Moktan is an advocate. She has a bachelor's degree in law from Nepal Law Campus. She is from Shankharpur in Kathmandu.
